We are the Holding family, passionate restaurateurs celebrating the flavors of Southeast Asia. The vibrant hawker stalls of Singapore, Malaysia, and Indonesia are the inspiration for us.
Because of the great effort we’ve made to ensure every dish is crafted from the freshest local seafood and tropical produce, we’ve built strong relationships with Far North Queensland suppliers over the years. As a result, we’re proud to bring those ingredients to life on the plate.
Our family has been deeply influenced by the vibrant street food of Southeast Asia. However, rather than simply recreating traditional dishes, we interpret those bold flavors and culinary traditions in our own unique way. We celebrate the spirit of the hawker stalls while showcasing the incredible local ingredients of our region.
The Chef
I started Beach Almond as a way to honor both my love of Asian street food and my passion for creating bold, memorable Malayasian and Singaporean flavors. With a background in science and teaching, and over a decade running Beach Almond, I’ve dedicated myself to refining dishes that balance tradition with originality.
Countless hours have gone into developing the menu you see today. This ranges from perfecting our signature Mud Crab to reimagining classics like laksa and satay. Every recipe is shaped by careful sourcing and precise technique. We commit to giving our guests the best of both the Far North Queensland region and the season.




Located opposite Double Island in Palm Cove, Beach Almond is a relaxed yet upmarket restaurant. We serve authentic Southeast Asian flavors with a focus on local seafood. Join us in our tropical longhouse-style dining space, with the Coral Sea just steps away.
